Girls’ Generation released their 3rd full-length album ‘The Boys’ a few weeks back on October 19th and the album has since exceeded a total sales of 104,161 on the Hanteo chart.
Compared to their second album ‘Oh!’, which exceeded the sales of 100,000 in 28 days, ‘The Boys’ made the mark a week faster. Considering the generally low sales rates of other girl group albums, it is very significant that Girls’ Generation managed to achieve the album sales of 100,000 during the comeback period of top male singers such as Kim Hyun-joong and Lee Seung-gi. Therefore, this again proves the unstoppable power of Girls’ Generation.
On top of this, Girls’ Generation has been topping charts on music programmes such as Mnet’s M!Countdown, Music Bank and Inkigayo, giving indication of their popularity and success of their new album.
