Girls’ Generation has once again been invited to the FNS Music Festival,
hosted by Fuji Television and Fuji Networks System. The FNS Music
Festival will be showcasing some of the biggest names in the Japanese
music industry with a variety of performances and collaborations, which
will turn into a mammoth four hour broadcast. This event will honor the
many achievements the artists have accomplished throughout the year. The
event will be held on December 7th, 2011 at 7pm JST.
After a successful release of their self-titled “Girls’ Generation”
original Japanese album, which was certified double platinum shipping
over 900,000 copies since first being released on May 31st, a first
among Korean female group artists. They also held a national tour that
saw over 140,000 fans come to watch the concert. Appearances at both
Summer Sonic 2011 and at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan certainly helped
to solidify their popularity and impact on the Japanese music scene. The
girls have certainly reached many milestones during their time in Japan
and this will only add to that growing list of achievements.
This will be the second time that Girls’ Generation has been invited
to this prestigious event, as they also appeared last year where they
performed the Japanese versions of their hit singles “Gee” and “Genie”.
Other Korean artists that will be appearing alongside them this year
include BoA and first-time attendee KARA.
